Well, I like some of his music, so I won't go there - but he is a total douche and I agree about the fugly.

I mean, it looks like as a baby, he might have been cute, and then someone knowing he was going to make it big was like "maybe a few blows to the face with a shovel will help!"

It didn't change his popularity, but I sure don't think he's easy to look at.

It's weird because if I squint and tilt my head to the side... I can sort of see how he might be attractive. And then it all just GOES AWAY somehow.

But the music thing... I don't even have anything to SAY to that. Nothing I say will be even remotely nice. But I'm a pretentious indie-loving music snob, so yeah.

I'm the antithesis of indie snobs.

Hell, I can use Leif Garrett and Blondie to show the eventual development of post-rock/metal awesomeness like Mogwai and Pelican, or even modern indie pop/rock like Stars, the Magnetic Fields, and even Sulfjan.

I'm an eerily informed music afficianado >_>

P.S. If you really want total awesome, hunt down a copy of The Field Mice's Triple, "Where'd You Learn To Kiss That Way?" - some of the best indie ambient pop I've ever had the pleasure of falling asleep to!

Even though I don't know much about music in general (OR SO I THINK, THOUGH APPARENTLY I KNOW MORE OBSCURE SHIT THAN MOST, AND ALSO CAN TALK ABOUT OPERA AT LENGTH). But I also have very, uh, rigid taste in music and it definitely excludes wimpyass shit like John Mayer. And probably ambient pop, idk, is that like Panda Bear? I hated that album last year. I had a professor who went on and on about it but I got halfway through and in the middle of "Bros" I was like FUCK THAT SHIT, I'M GOING BACK TO BATTLES AND LIGHTNING BOLT AND OTHER LOUD SHIT. FUCK EVEN RIHANNA WAS FUCKING BETTER THAN PANDA BEAR. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST I BET PANDAS ARE FUCKING ASHAMED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THAT SHIT. oh god I'm just ranty today.
