2008 fandom meme
31st-Dec-2008 09:50 am
nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] collswan.

1. What fandoms did you acquire in 2008? 30 Rock, Bandom (THANKS A LOT, [livejournal.com profile] scoradh!!!), Bones, Burn Notice (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] unbeguiled, and omgggg, thanks so much, it is like a spy version of Eyes), Chuck, Dirty Harry (not that there's a fandom to speak of for it), Doctor Who, Dr Horrible, E.R. (it's like the show that never ends), Gossip Girl, House, Moonlight, My Own Worst Enemy, Narnia (with renewed vigor now that most of the actors no longer look so jailbaity), Ocean's Films (again), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Torchwood, Wall-E

2. What fandoms did you let go of in 2008? ... Let go of? What is this "let go of"?

3. What fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2008? (Why?) X-Files (well, really because there are ZILLIONS OF EPISODES), Stargate SG-1 (same... though I HAVE seen like three seasons of it!)

4. What fandoms do you intend on checking out in 2009? X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Pushing Daisies (a show with an end!), Dollhouse

5. What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2009 unless things significantly improve? Again, "let go"? I actually don't like House and have no idea why I watch it, and I found True Blood so boring I only made it through two and a quarter episodes.

6. What fandoms do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why? NARNIAAAAA. STAAAARRRRR WAAARRRRS. Or, uh, ahahahhaha, probably most all of them. I'm not exactly active in them all at once or anything, but that's because I choose to spend my free time watching nearly every tv show known to man.

7. What show impressed you most in 2008? Um. Probably E.R. or Chuck.

8. What show impressed you least in 2008? Pffffft, Friday Night Lights and True Blood. Five episodes in to FNL, not even three into TB, and I was done. Needs more spaceships or something, really.

ROFL! ~ I'm watching a show that aired in 1995, so I hear ya!

SG-1 ~ what? 10 seasons? 2 movies? Piece of cake. *chuckle I'm actually going through them AGAIN. nuts.

& damn you, reading your entry & I have at least 4 things to add to my "watch in 2009" list. I'd call you a scruffy-looking-nerf-herder, but we just became friends & I don't want to alienate you so soon. ;)

Well, I've seen the last two seasons of SG1, most of the first season, all the movies, and scattered episodes from throughout (as they have aired on TV, and also the ones with Rodney McKay), but I'm just. Um. Kind of mired in the first season. Because so far in the show? The only characters I like are Sam and Teal'c. I really want to muddle through because I can't wait to get to the episodes with VALA (who is, of course, one of my favorites, because ♥♥Claudia♥Black♥♥!!!!) but I just keep getting stuck.

Ahhaha, feel quite free to call me a scruffy-looking nerf-herder. I would probably take it as a compliment!

TORCHWOOD. Torchwood has my heart.

Why don't you like House? Do you just not like the current season, or have you never liked it? (Try not to be spoilery, I haven't seen much past season three)

The only redeeming aspects of House are Blond Man Doctor and Thirteen, imo. Also Cuddy is a pretty snappy dresser, I guess, but otherwise it's just pretty boring. Also, for such "good" doctors, they sure do suck at diagnosing people sometimes.

Hahaha, fair enough. :) "Blond Man Doctor" = Best Nickname Ever. Just because "Man" is in there, not "Male" or something. And the word order is awesome, it could have been "Male Blond Doctor". And I'm analyzing the funny too closely.

Well, you see, I started watching in the current season, when Cameron (?Is that her name?) has blonde hair, so there is Blond Man Doctor and Blonde Woman Doctor. And those names kind of stuck. I even call her Blonde Woman Doctor in the episodes where she has brown hair, which confuses people when I am watching the show with them. haha!

That makes it slightly less better. You shouldn't have told me your secret! In other news, Cameron's blond hair freaks me out.

hahah, it's like revealing the technique of a magic trick. SORRY, NEVER AGAIN!
31st-Dec-2008 05:55 pm (UTC)
That's exactly what it's like! Or like watching the commentary where they tell you how they put the scene together? And then it's never the same. Like, did you know in Juno when all the TicTacs fall out of the mailbox, they had to set up a contraption to force them out because they wouldn't fall on their own? They just sat there.

ohhhhh, see I think that tic-tac thing is cool. how ingenious!

So if you don't like House, why are you still watching it neener neener :P I think you DO like it, but in a 2nd grade pulling-its-pigtails kind of way.

I'm stealing this meme.

haha, maybe you're right! I guess I like it because it feels like an E.R. knockoff, and even if it's not as ~OMGDRAMATIC~ as E.R., it still brings some hot dude doctors making diagnoses and some truly disgusting scenes of projectile blood-vomit, etc.

hee!

Needs more spaceships or something, really.

Or hot men kissing.

I would not object to that either!
