SGA? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I kind of can't believe they canceled it because I feel like it hasn't reached its full potential yet and that it won't this season (from what I've seen of the plot summaries). And honestly, as much as I love Rodney, I'm sick of the Rodney McKay show. And even a little bit of the John Sheppard Saves The Day show. I mean, they have a whole team of main characters to use, and I really think the show would be improved if they USED them. And had multi-episode story arcs. They SAY this movie thing will give them the opportunity to "tell stories on a bigger canvas" but GUESS WHAT, GUYS, I AM PRETTY SURE SHOWS LIKE BUFFY AND BSG HAVE SHOWN US THAT TV IS A BIGGER CANVAS ACTUALLY. I mean, that's what they said about the SG-1 movies too but both have been just like weirdly paced episodes that dragged on too long and didn't inject the series with anything interesting or new.

I think my feelings on this matter are best expressed through the power of walrus:

That is all.

Yay Walrus!

I've seen all of like... 10 eps of SGA, so I can't comment.

SGA is a rather strange show. I think during the first season they had Aspirations and maybe were under the impression that it was (or could, or should be) a SRS BSNS show... and during the second season you could sort of see them slowly realize that they were actually better at other stuff, and then during the third season they WENT FUCKING BATSHIT INSANE and had stuff like, episodes about PSYCHIC WHALES THAT WARN ATLANTIS OF IMPENDING DOOM BY SUPERHUGE SOLAR FLARE or episodes wherein JOHN AND RODNEY PLAY AN ATLANTEAN VIDEOGAME THAT'S LIKE SIM CITY EXCEPT THEN IT TURNS OUT THEY ARE REAL CITIES ON A REAL PLANET (this season is obviously my favorite because it has the highest "lol wtf" factor), and then the fourth season was just all over the place -- I think it's because they were all reeling from the loss of SG-1, and SG-1 staff/writers/actors were bleeding over onto Atlantis, and that gave the show a different feel. And, see, I think the show actually DOES have the potential to be a SRS BSNS show, but they'd need to abandon this straight-up episodic shit and do multi-episode arcs and it could be awwwwwwesome. BUT INSTEAD I GUESS I'LL JUST READ FANFIC.

Hahahaha.

Okay, yes, that would be awesome. Recycled Star Trek IV storyline ftw.

You know what else is made of win? DEATH RACE. EVEN IF IT TOTALLY SUCKS. Because A) Jason Statham and B) SHIT BLOWS UP and C) Jason Statham and of course D) SHIT BLOWS UP.

DID YOU KNOW THEY ARE MAKING A TRANSPORTER 3?

I would not have understood the depth of emotion unless I saw the walrus. NOW I UNDERSTAND.

HONESTLY. I leave the internet for five minutes...

GUESS WHAT, GUYS, I AM PRETTY SURE SHOWS LIKE BUFFY AND BSG HAVE SHOWN US THAT TV IS A BIGGER CANVAS ACTUALLY.

This is so true! I mean, Serenity was okay, but every time I rewatch Firefly I think how awesome it would have been to see that story told properly, carefully, as it was supposed to be - ON TV.

You can't EVER leave the internets without shit going down! You should know that by now!

Oh, I know. You can see the potential for PURE AWESOME instead of just something that was pretty alright.
