Umm for some reason I got all picspammy with this episode reaction post.

SGA 5x05 - Ghost in the Machine

FLYING MONKEYS WITH BEAKS, WHAT. I DEMAND TO ACTUALLY SEE THESE IN AN EPISODE.

I am still in love with the whooshy blue credits. You'd think I'd get tired of them after four seasons, but no.

ALSO I AM KIND OF LOVING THE ROBERT PICARDO CHARACTER. HE IS SO OUT OF HIS ELEMENT AND IT'S AWESOME.

OH GOD AT THE "HELP" SCENE I TOTALLY FLAILED.

They really need to give Ronon more to do instead of just letting him sit around looking kinda hot.

OMG THE RETURN OF FRAN/WEIR!

I totally made like a zillion icons out of that cap of Ronon with the gun.

Also, Zelenka's face was so cute when FranWeir was talking. He's sooooooo in love with Weir still.

Woolsey: "For all we know, it could be Oberoth inside that body."
John: "That's creepy."
Oh, John, always thinking of sexytimes. YOU KNOW he was thinking of hitting that when he saw FranWeir.

FranWeir: "Torren, for your father, and John... Colonel Sheppard. Wait, uh, you're not saying that John is, uh?"
Teyla: "No, no, the father is Athosian."
AHAHHAHAHHA BEST EVER WEIR WAS SO LIKE "UH, TEYLA, I HOPE YOU DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH JOHN SHEPPARD, BECAUSE I WAS PRETTY SURE YOU'D NEVER GO THERE."

I love how FranWeir looked to John for confirmation before she went ahead with sending the replicators Woolsey's threat, and then looked at him again when she was done. It wasn't the smirky "oh, come on, I have to take orders from this windbag?" look that Torri Higginson would have had, but it was enough.

And, ahahha, FINALLY we get to see that Weir can negotiate, in what's probably her LAST appearance on the show. GREAT JOB, WRITING TEAM. We've only been told this is her greatest strength from the start. Oh wait, nevermind, that was the plan all along. DAMN YOU, WRITERS.

Here is a cap of Teyla just because:

John: "Well, what if one of them decides to stay?"
OH GOD, JOHN AND ELIZABETH ARE SO BFFS. BFFFs EVEN. I want to re-watch earlier seasons with this in mind. I bet they hang out after their duty shifts and watch soaps. John would LOVE soap operas. They're probably like, his THING that he does to relax, and Rodney makes fun of him for it. And Weir just put up with it to encourage good working relations, though she also admitted that seeing John flip out about the various plot developments was pretty funny. And NO, I don't know how or why they get soap operas on Atlantis, but I bet there are stores of old Atlantean soaps on data crystals somewhere.

Rodney: "There's no breaks, no chitchat, no social interaction whatsoever. It's just the perfect working environment."
lol RODNEY.

John: "Shoot them. Keep shooting. They'll go down eventually."
I think John likes us to think he has no heart. BUT HE DOES. IT'S JUST THREE SIZES TOO SMALL SOMETIMES.

FranWeir looking ~fierce~

and OH GOD, ELIZABETH.

But, to be fair, replicators HAVE come back from being frozen in space before, so maybe they'll bring her back someday?

And sometime during either the seventh or eighth episode of the first season of Supernatural, I switched from being a Dean girl to being a Sam girl. His long lanky legs and stupid wide smile grew on me.

Come on, tell me this smile is not just too cartoonish:

This was when I first realized his legs went on forever:

And here is his face after he and Dean had this conversation (paraphrased):
Dean: Dad loved you.
Sam: O RLY?
Dean: YA RLY.
Sam: SOMEHOW, I DOUBT YOU.
Dean: No, dude, he loved you so much that while you were at Stanford he stalked you.
Sam: I'm not sure whether I should be touched or creeped out. Or just flabbergasted.
Dean: FLABBERGASTED? DON'T USE BIG WORDS AROUND ME, YOU KNOW I GET UPSET ABOUT IT.

Woa, it's Skinner from the X-Files! Mitch Pileggi, why were there so many shots of you naked or topless and so few of David Duchovny?

At first I was like, "That neat bald guy looks familiar. Is that the doctor hologram from Star Trek? ...or is that ASSISTANT DIRECTOR WALTER SKINNER?" Anyway, I was excited. I get a little overexcited when I recognize actors. Like when I realized that Lt. Cain was Ensgin Ro, I FREAKED THE FUCK OUT.

WOA NEVER MIND THAT IS TOTALLY THE DOCTOR FROM STAR TREK I CANNOT READ

Anyway, I am still overexcited and Mitch Pileggi is also in SGA, his name is just not Robert Picardo.

Haha, I was going to point out that it was strange that you picked Mitch Pileggi since he's also in a lot of SGA episodes! But yeah, that's the hologram doctor from Star Trek. I could have sworn I saw a funny SG1 thing of him appearing in a scene and going "please state the nature of the medical emergency" and Jack O'Neill going "We've tried, but we can't get him to stop doing that." But now I can't find it. Woe!

Mitch Pileggi, why were there so many shots of you naked or topless and so few of David Duchovny?

A great question for the ages. I too would like to know the answer to this, though I have not yet managed to watch any X-Files.

Also, you didn't know Cain and Ro were both Michelle Forbes? I frakking LOVE Michelle Forbes and kind of religiously follow her work. She usually plays pretty awesome characters. I kind of wish Cain is the final cylon just so we could have more of Michelle Forbes on BSG.

That sounds awesome!

I don't know why there were so few of David Duchovny, though maybe they were trying to save them up so it's more exciting when it happens--the specific instances I can recall were season finales, mid-season finales, and the first episodes in a season. Mitch Pileggi at least is weirdly muscular and built, and I guess Chris Carter thought we would find this way awesomer than Mitch Pileggi's little bald head.

There is also an X-Files episode called "Ghost in the Machine" that was written by William Gibson. I don't know enough about SGA to guess whether the plots are similar.

I know, I am appalled at myself too! My excuse is that by the time I saw BSG it had been years since I'd seen any Ro episodes (which is sad because I still haven't seen TNG of any kind and also Ro is SO COOL). After BSG I saw Michelle Forbes everywhere--I was squeeing during a Boston Legal episode when she was a pro-ana lawyer and a Lost episode where she is a PR person for the airline of the plane that crashed and then I was on IMDB because I don't actually know the names of any actors and I was like "OMG ENSIGN RO WHUT" and it was great.

Every time someone talks about Supernatural I think of surf music because Sam & Dean are that embedded in my brain.

Popped in for the episode review- and read this And NO, I don't know how or why they get soap operas on Atlantis, but I bet there are stores of old Atlantean soaps on data crystals somewhere.

Thanks for the link, I had indeed NOT seen that fic!

No problem. There are sequels in case you missed them. They're listed under SGA fic on the main page.

You are SOOOOO right! XD Little details like that make you love DN even more!!! *loves*

I always wish there was more Zelenka in episodes. He's just too precious!

I was especially sad about Weir leaving the show after the third season because I didn't like her character until that season but then she just suddenly grew on me and I think she's awesome now. And I love your icon, I used to have a Weir/Zelenka (or, as I call it, "Elizelenka") icon from that same scene.
