Movies I've seen so far this summer:

The Dark Knight - B+. Suffered from the same flaws as its predecessor: too long, one villain too many, and Rachel Dawes wasn't quite right. More enjoyable upon rewatch because the plot threads really come together.

Hellboy II - B. Stunning creature effects and compelling characters made the somewhat humdrum plot enjoyable. I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Iron Man - B+. Great characters, great humor, and great "superhero discovering his powers" scenes, but the climactic fight was unforgivably boring. I look forward to a sequel with better action sequences.

Kung-fu Panda - B+. Hilarious kids' movie. I went in not expecting to enjoy it but ended up quite entertained. The plot reminded me of Mulan except with animals.

Wall-E - A+. This was simply too charming. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

Wanted - B-. Full of enough gory action scenes to satisfy almost anyone. The plot, with THE LOOM OF FATE, was lame and predictable, but James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie were pretty enough so that I could overlook that.

Oh man, I want to see all those movies, but I know I'll probably end up getting them on dvd. Haven't actually heard of Wall-E but will certainly keep an eye out for it now.

I really liked the 1st Hellboy, so have been itching to see this next one. Glad it doesn't disappoint.

Re Wanted: oh, shiny pretty people. This was a film that would get watched no matter what. The Angelina - James factor is too compelling.

Wall-E is the latest Pixar movie. It's about this run-down little robot who is cleaning up a trash-covered and abandoned earth all by his lonesome and who meets a shiny pretty new robot sent from the space-liner humans have been living in to see if the earth was habitable again yet. And they fall in looooooove. It's really creative and has a lot to say. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UblUO0LjPUg) is a trailer.

Wall-E is the only one I've seen, but I LOVED it. I always love the Disney/Pixar movies, though. :)

Wall-E was like the cutest movie ever!

I have such a beef with Batman over you-know-who dying in the end, because it totally screwed with the canon.

Eh, I didn't really mind. Movies and comics are so different that I can't even begin to compare them. Besides, comic canon is so damn complex that I don't understand what's going on half the time. Multiverses? What?

But it screwed up the movie canon, unless they just don't care about those 4 other Batman movies...

I think Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are their own separate continuity. Which I am thankful for because we do not need, for instance, the return of Mr. Freeze. And the bat-ice-skates.
