My reaction to these two episodes can best be summed up by this: WTF TORY. First I thought she wouldn't have sex with Baltar, then even though from the previews I had been SURE she was going to airlock Cally I started thinking she really wouldn't. Man. I kind of knew it would be Tory or Tyrol who would be the crazy ones, but this craziness has been a bit much for me. I can't decide whether or not I like Tory anymore. I loved her in seasons 2 and 3, but now? I don't know, man. She's continuing with the ruthlessness that is her trademark, but there's an element of instability that's not working out as well for her as it does for Kara. Probably because Tory has started actually killing good guys, which is not something Kara has ever done.
I'm glad that when Kara had Roslin at gunpoint she drew the parallels between Roslin's s1/2 savior arc and Kara's current situation -- and I'm even more glad that Adama gave her a ship, even if it kind of got him in trouble with Roslin.
I can't figure out which is hotter: the Kara/Lee goodbye scene from "Six of One" or the Kara/Sam fight/frak scene from "The Ties That Bind." Maybe they're equally hot. Either way, I feel sorry for Lee and Sam -- Kara is so,
so screwed up right now and they're still so in love with her.
What was with Boomer kissing Cavil? That was weird and creepy. It needed to stop.
What does not need to stop = Baltar being visited by head!Baltar. More than one Baltar on the screen is almost overwhelming in its intensity. And awesomeness.
Also, it was funny how totally Lee was pwned by Roslin during the Quorum scenes. He kept standing up and she kept smacking him down while wearing this totally awesome little smirk that said "I know what you're trying to do, Lee Adama, and I'd let you get away with it if you hadn't totally betrayed me," and it kept making him frown and look so emotional. Lee Adama has TOO MANY FEELINGS, guys. Too many. Kara doesn't have that many... but this is mostly because she takes them out on Sam. Poor Sam. Poor hot, confused, cylon Sam.
Also, how AWESOME is it that Helo, Athena, and FELIX FRAKKING GAETA are on the ship with Kara and Sam? VERY AWESOME, Y/Y? Y. Also Seelix, I like her too, even if she's bitching about being there. But Gaeta! And HELO! I sense good times ahead.
I'm pretty convinced the people making BSG have lost it and just decided to throw all the most insane shit they could think of at us in the hopes that some of it would be brilliant. I'm not sure this strategy is working.
I also watched the
Doctor Who episode that aired before/after BSG. I can't stand the show, but David Tennant is almost unbearably awesome.
