So... Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: The Movie. My thoughts?

1. WOW DANRAD GOT ALL HOT AND STUFF.

2. Young Snape = I'd hit it.

3. Luna luna luna luna luna luna luna luna luna. LUNA.

4. Did Lupin have his arm around Sirius? I swear I wasn't imagining this. Confirm? Deny? ANSWERS, people, I need ANSWERS.

5. Also hot: Neville, Dean, Draco. And GARY OLDMAN, of course, but this isn't exactly news.

6. Why did Dudley sound like a girl?

7. In the book, when Harry said the thing about nargles while speaking to Cho, it seemed logical. In the movie, it seemed like an intentional callback to Luna. HI, FORESHADOWING (I hope).

8. So that scene where they were flying on the brooms... and flying on the brooms... and then flying on the brooms some more? Why the fuck was that even in the movie? They're wizards, they fly, I got it. It served NO purpose. It didn't even look cool! Couldn't we have had a character-building scene instead? More Sirius? Secret-keeper bit? Anything?

9. The scene with Filch and the chocolates was so cute. I was all "awww!" Argus & Arabella need to shack up, yo. (Also? Argus Filch, Arabella Figg, huh.)

10. SIRIUS'S DEATH. It was soooooooooo hilarious. The whole theater was silent, and the soundtrack was silent, and I was laughing hysterically. The person behind me kicked my chair. I couldn't help it! I adore Sirius but the scene was just TOO FUNNY.

11. OotP, like all the other Potter films, was not a good movie. Enjoyable for the fans, maybe even enjoyable for some non-fans, but not actually good.

Also, I solemnly swear I am up to no good I will not -- I repeat, NOT -- flip through DH to see who dies and who ends up with who before reading it. I will read it in order. It will be hard and I will be a nervous wreck by the end, but I will do it.
